Construction Types

Understanding the difference between pallet construction types helps you choose the right option for your application.

Stringer Pallets

The most common type, using parallel boards (stringers) for support. Cost-effective and widely available for most applications.

Advantages

  • Lower cost
  • Easy to repair
  • Widely available

Considerations

  • May need notches for 4-way entry

Block Pallets

Use blocks at intersections for support. Provides true 4-way entry and superior strength. Preferred by many automated systems.

Advantages

  • True 4-way entry
  • Stronger
  • Better for automation

Considerations

  • Higher cost
  • More complex repair
